1996. Cinq Chaises à la Chaise au Plafond
Synopsis
In Cinq Chaises à la Chaise au Plafond elements of distance and communication, born from KT’s personal experience, are shared with the viewer through their complexity and universality.
Chairs represent a place to rest, allowing us to take time out with a friend or by ourselves. Chairs set up consciously or subconsciously in various formations, allow different types of communication to occur. In their placement, they play with distance.
All elements of the project, including the distance between the two groups of chairs, are infused with messages about distance and belonging. The installation explores the notion of separation in relationships by means of ultimatum.
