Three.Six.Five – A Year of Moments

May 21, 2010

With so many exhibitions opening in May, I’m really glad I made it along to the intimate launch of Three.Six.Five – A Year of Moments at Myrtle Street Studio (MSS). This is the first exhibition for Emma Simpson, a budding photographer, who gave herself the project of taking a photograph every single day for a year. Yes, that’s 365 photos!

Emma worked with MSS Gallery Director, Jay Dee Dearness to hang the show in a seven day week calendar grid as small, unframed photographs. This allows the viewer to take in the show at a glance without being overwhelmed by the number of works displayed in the intimate gallery, but invites closer inspection of the images as they jump out from the grid.

Make sure you get along to see the shows at MSS quick smart as they are usually up for only one week.

To stay informed of upcoming shows follow the Myrtle Street Studio blog and/or subscribe for updates.
