Inhabit Fiesta

June 15, 2010

Brisbane’s Inhabit Fiesta kicked off last Thursday 10 June, 2010 and will run until the 27th.

A series of events, happenings, exhibitions, music and alleyway bars will be bringing these forgotten spaces alive. Brisbane is only just developing a laneway culture, thanks to Brisbane City Council’s Vibrant Laneways and Small Spaces program, of which my UAP Mentorship Residency project, Briggs’ Lanterns, was a part in 2009/2010.

Participating laneways include:

Alleyway 109, Metro Arts, 109 Edward Street
Burnett Lane, off Albert Street
Eagle Lane, off Queen Street
Gresham Lane, off Creek Street
Island Court, off Elizabeth Street
Metro Lane, off Charlotte Street
Spencer Lane, off Margaret Street

So, rug up (Brisbane-style) and check out what’s on, especially what Glow 32 are up to (set up by the team at City Studios)… Perhaps I’ll see you there!
