Kizuna – Art Exhibition for Japan at Hanasho – A fundraising success!

August 31, 2011

In this post I wrote about a lovely initiative by Hanasho: Flower & Art shop owner Eba Hiro, raising funds for the recovery effort in Japan post earthquake/tsunami earlier this year. Many artists were invited to donate artwork to the exhibition, ‘Kizuna’, and all works were for sale with 100% of proceeds going to the fundraising cause.

Well… over $10,000 was raised from the sale of artworks and donations over the week-long exhibition, culminating with a wonderful mini-concert on the last day, drawing a massive crowd.

The power of the ‘good cause’ strikes again and in my own backyard. Thank you Eba for asking me to be involved (with the letterpress print, Lucerne, pictured below) and for following your instincts to make this project a reality.
